Louis delivered the keynote address for the National Year of Reading, on September 10, 2008, in London, England, at the Royal Festival Hall and has spoken at Columbia University, and lectured at Harvard University in 2008.
Louis has spoken inside Hull Prison, Reading Prison (where Oscar Wilde was once housed), HMP Wandsworth, HMP Kennet and HMP Wormwood Scrubs in the UK.
In December 2008, Louis visited Manchester and Rochdale, England, as a guest and keynote speaker for the Rochdale Literary Conference.
